bedtime

bedtime is my favorite time. i get Asher all to myself. after a day of stress, bills, phone calls, and family members cuddling him.. he is all mine....
he falls asleep so easily. he is so trusting and so comfortable ...
i adore his little comfy noises.. and most of the time i don't want to put him down.
like he did in the belly, he loves music. you put it on and his eyes start wandering all over the room... then you see him calm down and enjoy falling asleep.

i have posted about this cd before. last year sometime.... i had the most beautiful patient.. a newborn girl who was incredibly small, and very sick. her mom had lots of other kids so she was unable to stay the night at the hospital. she left a small cd player right above the little girl's warmer. . . and this cd played on repeat all night . .. i would sit in the rocker and hold her.. and listen to the cd over and over.. i loved it. so.... when a few months into my pregnancy it hit me that i was actually having a child, a real person who would rely on me for comfort... especially to fall asleep... this was my first purchase.
i played it for him for months.. in the belly... i would put it on repeat on the ipod and headphones, or i would blast it in the car on the way to or from work.
i am so happy to be able to play it for him now .. i like to imagine that it really does help him fall asleep.
