i got little sleep last night. im talking about 3 hours. .. in between eating pop tarts in my bed. . .. i was imagining adverse side effects of immunizations.
i was pleased when our appointment went MOSTLY with out flaw.
i spend all year suctioning babies, putting a long straw down their nose, or a feeding tube, holding for iv placements, or spinal taps. watching babies cry and scream. it has never really bothered me. of course i feel bad. but ............. NOTHING like what i felt today.
watching my sweet baby have 3 shots, 1 oral vaccine, and opening of circ adhesions... broke my heart. the dr said i screamed when she was taking care of adhesions. and i could not watch the medical assistant (with rainbow colored hair?.. and a lip piercing) poke my sweet baby's thighs.
glad its over

All those diseases were so awful and often killed children. Can you imagine what mothers would have given back then to know their child would never have to have one of the diseases that we now get immunized for? why why would you risk your child's life and not get them immunized? that is one thing i do not understand. my great grandma had two little girls die a few days apart from the measles....and now we never have to worry about that with our children. what a blessing!
dear asher,
i'm so glad your shots are over. if you want to hear about your 4-month immunizations, give me a call.

p.s. i like sloppy kissers.
p.p.s. my mom wants to know why your mom's blog is no longer private. she liked being part of the exclusive club.
Luckily Asher will never know how scary those shots were! He's getting so big.
