black

Black Friday

  • waited at Toys R Us for 2 hours. for the doors to open. then... when the line inside to check out was OVER a 2 hour wait.. we ditched our cart and left.
  • sat outside of Kohls from 2-4 am. was one of the first 20 people inside. in and out of the store in 37 minutes. .
  • sat outside Babies R Us for about 10 minutes waiting for the doors to open... in and out in 10 minutes.
  • walmart. you are the devil. 4 items. 1 1/2 hours in line to check out. totally not worth it.

(what i stared at for 2 hours. in a field. in the freezing cold)

Walmart congestion at 6 am. worst idea. never again. im sure the swine flu was running rampant through this place.. close quarters and all. crazy people with 2-4 carts full of absolute crap. most did not speak english and insisted in cutting in front of you in line.. then would respond with "no hablo english". whatever. cheater.

(the haul)

(ended the morning with this!.. after freezing all night long in lines and lines and lines)

A few of my fave deals:::::
  • $10 for 2 packs of diapers
  • box of wipes.. 480ct.. for $5
  • diamond ear rings $30
  • exersaucer $70
  • carters outfits 50-70 % off
  • playskool and fisher price toys 40-60 % off
Strategies that helped me survive:::
  • ALWAYS have at least one person holding a spot in the check out line. switch off to do your shopping. plenty of time!
  • door buster deals really make a difference. . . wait outside of kohls. its worth it
  • clip ads of the items you want, and tape them onto a paper for each store. so your not wandering around, so you know which brand you want, and so you know the correct price
  • bring chairs and blankets for outside lines
  • be courteous to others and they will most likely be the same way to you
  • save walmart for your last stop. .
  • wear a purse you can put across you.. and not over your shoulder
  • wear tennis shoes. not sandals.

it was an interesting day. we were all done with everything by 7am. i saved OVER $600 dollars. according to my receipts. and spent WAY less than i ever imagined.
Lesson learned from my first Black Friday ...... its not for the faint of heart!
